The Idiots guide to marketing : part 1
Being a business A-level student, I can only start to appreciate how difficult it is to market a product on the multi-national stage. The planning, advertising and pricing strategies are all delicate issues which need to be considered. But maybe some of the below products should have sorted out the basics first i.e. give their product a name which can’t be “misinterpreted” by the English speaking world. The below are genuine products sold throughout the world.
ZIT – German Fruit and nut chocolate bar
PSCHIT – A French soft drink
ASS GLUE – A Chinese Medicine
SHITTO – a spicy pepper sauce from Ghana
SUPER PIS– Finnish anti-freeze
HOMO SAUSAGE– Japanese Beef snack
Seriously these are not made up. Surprisingly many of these were not designed for export!
